About Us.
Flooring has been part of our family for over 70 years. Michael Butler, who worked as a representative for flooring suppliers & manufacturers, and Adam, who grew up spending my school holidays alongside his father (Michael's son), Nick Butler, learning the trade from an early age.
After Adam learned the trade and gained 10 years of fitting experience, Butler Carpets & Flooring was founded in 2023. Sadly, just one week after launch, Nick passed away. Today, Adam continues building the company in his memory, guided by the values: honest advice, quality workmanship, and treating every home as if it were our own.
We're not here to sell. We're here to help you choose the right flooring for your lifestyle. As proud members of the NICF, with specialist subfloor training and a 2-year fitting guarantee, our mission is simple: to become the flooring company you can trust and recommend to your family and friends.

We supply & install: carpets, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), Laminate, Engineered wood, Sisal & Unnatural Flooring.
Yes! From the get-go, we ask specific questions so we can understand where the product will be going, what type of traffic it will be up against and what type of subfloor prep would be needed for the install. We want to leave you with something you love while also knowing it will last the test of time.
Yes. We supply and fit all our projects, unless you request that we only supply the product.
Yes, we can move large items of furniture; however, there would be a charge. We will ask about this on our measuring visit.
Usually no, as guaranties/warranties will not be valid after being fitted by another fitter. This is why we recommend having us supply and fit our products.
Sometimes the new flooring we lay may be thicker than the original covering. That can mean doors may need to be trimmed. The good part is that we can do this for you. If we come across fire doors or double doors (with metal furniture), then we would recommend a carpenter to adjust these before or after fitting.
No, this is where specialist subfloor preparation is needed. We will use our expertise in product selection to smooth or help try to level out a floor to be within tolerance for the manufacturers of your floor covering.
This is anything we do to the subfloor to make it ready for your chosen floor covering to be applied to their manufactures specifications. This means your product will be guaranteed. We will use materials like: smoothing compounds, flooring grade ply, damp proof membranes and repair compounds.
When it comes to hard flooring, No. Carpet can be fitted on top of some hard floor covering like LVT and tiles.
